Man charged in connection with Del. burglary
SEAFORD, Del. – A man was arrested after police say he was involved in a Seaford burglary that happened earlier this week.
The Seaford Police Department says on August 20, officers responded to the 200 block of North Front Street for a report of a robbery. Police say a person forced their way into the victim’s home pinning the victim between the doorway and a wall. Authorities report that the suspect then reached into the residence and took various items of property that were within arm’s reach.
According to the report, a witness who noticed the incident confronted the suspect and called 911. Seaford PD says the suspect then assaulted the witness and stole their cell phone before fleeing the scene.
Initially, police say they were only given the nickname of the suspect. Law enforcement reports that the suspect was later identified as 34-year-old Troy Sanders.
On Wednesday, the Bridgeville man was arrested and charged with robbery second degree, burglary second degree, theft under $1,500 and malicious interference with emergency communications.
Sanders was turned over to the Department of Corrections in lieu of $16,500 secured bail
