Man arrested in connection with attempted armed robbery at KFC

A Florida man was arrested after police say he was involved in an attempted armed robbery at a Kentucky Fried Chicken restaurant in Delaware.
The Dover Police Department says on Sunday, around 11:15 PM, a 38-year-old woman was standing outside of the Kentucky Fried Chicken, on Forrest Avenue, for a ride home from work when she was approached by 27-year-old Antonio Stevens. Police say Stevens demanded that she open the store, but she stated that she did not have access to do so. Authorities report that Stevens then demanded her personal belongings, eventually pointing what appeared to be a handgun at her. He then fled the the scene after a brief struggle.
According to the report, arriving officers searched the area for the Orlando, FL man and he was taken into custody after a brief foot chase. Dover PD says they also located a mask and BB gun that were used in the incident.
The 27-year-old was charged with attempted robbery first degree, wearing a disguise during commission of felony, and resisting arrest.
He was committed to James T. Vaughn Correctional Center in default of $6,500 cash bond.
