Juveniles charged after Dorchester Co. armed robbery

HURLOCK, Md.  – Four teens are facing charges after deputies say they were involved in the armed robbery of a delivery driver in Dorchester County.

The Dorchester County Sheriff’s Office says on Wednesday, the Hurlock Police Department and Maryland State Police assisted deputies in responding to the Mission Hill area for a reported armed robbery of a pizza delivery driver. Once on scene, deputies say it was reported that the driver had been sent to Mission Hill for the delivery and he was  approached by four men. Law enforcement reports that one of the men was armed with a revolver.

According to the report, the delivery driver was then hit in the face several times and ordered to give them all of his money and valuables. Authorities say the suspects took the driver’s cash, his cell phone, and his driver’s license. Officials say the victim did not require medical attention as result of the incident.

After further investigation, deputies report that the suspects were identified as a 14-year-old and a 15-year-old from Hurlock, a 15-year-old Seaford teen, and 16-year-old Charles Mitchell, of Hurlock. Mitchell was charged with robbery, armed robbery, first degree assault, second degree assault and reckless endangerment.

Deputies report that Mitchell was charged as an adult in connection with this investigation. He was ordered held without bond.

The three juveniles were charged with robbery, armed robbery, first degree assault, second degree assault and reckless endangerment. They were referred to Juvenile Services.
