Joshua Lankford found not guilty of murder

SALISBURY, Md. – Joshua Lankford is a free man after a jury found him not guilty of all charges. Lankford was facing first degree murder charges for his alleged role in the shooting death of James Joyce back in December of 2016.

But despite the state’s best efforts to prove Lankford was the killer, the jury would ultimately find that he was not responsible for Joyce’s death.

The defense attorney Derrick Hamlin tells 47 ABC that the state had the right people the first time, eluding to the two teens that were originally arrested and charged for this crime.

He also said that the states case was ‘based entirely on the word of jailhouse snitches.’

Over the last five days in court, the state had several witnesses take the stand including Lankford’s former cell mates, who testified to Lankford bragging about this murder.

But after all was said and done, the jury believed Lankford was innocent and so he is officially a free man.
