Have a seat raises thousands for art and entertainment marketing
The Crab Derby continued Thursday evening, and the place to be was at the Somers Cove Marina where the Have A Seat auction took place.
Local artists have for months painted these chairs, a total of forty were up for sale.
We’re told the auction raised $9,150, with chairs still in reserve.
That money will all go toward marketing for the arts and entertainment district using two billboards on Route 113.
The next step is to begin the search for a logo for the new A and E distrist.
“We’re going to be launching a contest for a logo for the Crisfield A and E, and that will incorporated in on the billboards,” said Carol Heck, chair of the A and E district.
This auction took place during the Crab Derby, and that event will be ongoing through Sunday night.
