Ocean City police say that a local church employee may have stolen over 100 thousand dollars from her employer over the course of a year.

That money was allegedly taken from Saint George Greek Orthodox Church from May of 2017 to July of 2018.

Police say they began investigating Teresa Kolacz back in the spring of this year – after church officials say they discovered the Berlin woman was embezzling large amounts of money from them.

After nearly two months detectives decided they had found enough evidence and issued a warrant for the 51-year-olds arrest, charging her with one count of theft of $100,000 dollars or more – embezzlement and 11 counts of forgery.

According to court records Kolacz turned herself in on July 17th,  but wasn't released until the 26th when she posted a $50,000 dollar bond.

As of right now her trial is set for November of this year.
