DELAWARE – On Tuesday, environmental officials say an air quality alert was issued in Delaware.

The Delaware Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control (DNREC) says a Code Orange Air Quality Alert was issued as the air is considered unhealthy for sensitive groups such as older adults, children, and people with respiratory and heart conditions. Officials say these individuals should limit their time outside or don’t go outside if it is not necessary.

47ABC Meteorologist Jean Vivola says a Heat Advisory has also been issued for Sussex and Kent counties until 8:00 PM.
