Crisfield kicks of 71st annual Hard Crab Derby

In Crisfield, the town kicked off the first day of the new week long crab derby. The annual event began this evening with the town’s very own miss Crustacean Pageant. Other activities that will be happening throughout the week include a carnival and various forms on entertainment. But the real fun kicks off on Friday when the crab cooking contests begin along with crab picking and crab races heading into the weekend. Officials say the derby brings thousands of people to the eastern shore each year and it’s truly a family friendly event that people of all ages will enjoy.
