Changes coming for local dog park
OCEAN PINES, Md. – Some changes are coming to its local dog park in Ocean Pines. Officials tell us the local governing body is behind the times on putting in these new regulations that should be in place by next year.
The park, located in the South Gate entrance, are in the process of the installing new electronic access fencing, but experienced a hiccup in installation earlier this year, telling us they are, “behind the times.”
We’re told this new access regulation will help keep dogs safe and that there will also be a small annual fee to bring in revenue from the park for its upkeep.
“When a party is registered to utilize the facility in order to gain access to it, then you know that the dogs are all up on their shots and everything else,” said Ocean Pines Association general manager John Bailey.
Dog owners can register by going to the Ocean Pines Association.
Bailey added that he hopes to see more drainage and potentially see some tree removal for some more sun at the park in the future.
