Arrest made in fatal shooting on elementary school grounds
DOVER, Del. – Dover Police arrested a man in connection with the fatal shooting that happened Tuesday night at Towne Point Elementary School.
Police arrested 53-year-old Rodney West. He was reportedly found by the U.S. Marshals in Montgomery County, Maryland. West was an employee with the Capital School District.
Just before 10 p.m. on Tuesday police responded to the school for a reports of shots fired. When they arrived, they found 39-year-old Derrick Combs dead from multiple gunshot wounds.
West is currently being held pending extradition to Delaware. He is facing charges of first degree murder, possession of a firearm during commission of felony and possession of firearm safe school zone.
