Worcester County crash claims one life; investigation ongoing

An Ocean City man has died after police say he was injured in a crash in Worcester County.

Maryland State Police say on Wednesday, around 12:45 PM, troopers along with the Berlin Fire Department, Ocean City Fire Department, Worcester Sheriff's Department and Delaware State Police Trooper 2 responded to a single vehicle crash at Grays Corner Road, West of Riddle Lane. Troopers say a Ford Ranger pickup truck struck a telephone pole .

According to the report, the driver of the truck was identified as 31-year-old Tony Leonard Childs. Authorities report that the he was flown to a nearby medical facility, where he died as a result of his injuries.

The cause of this crash remains under investigation.
