A Delaware man was sentenced to decades in prison after he admitted to his involvement in the production of child pornography.
The United States Department of Justice for the District of Delaware says on Monday, 30-year-old Daniel Hill, of Dover, was sentenced to 25 years in prison for the production of child pornography. The 30-year-old pleaded guilty to two counts of production of child pornography back in November 2017.
According to admissions made as part of his guilty plea, Hill was arrested by the Delaware State Police for solicitation of a minor back in December 2015. Authorities say Hill admitted he met someone online who he believed was a 14-year-old girl, and he arranged to engage in sexual intercourse with her. Following his arrest, a court-authorized search of Hill's electronic devices revealed evidence that Hill had produced images of child pornography depicting two minors under the age of 12.
Law enforcement also says the Dover man had also distributed child pornography to others via online chat groups. Hill was indicted in the U.S. District Court for the District of Delaware for enticement of a minor and for possession, production, and distribution of child pornography back in August 2016.
After serving his prison sentence, Hill will be on supervised release for 15 years.
This case was investigated by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement's Homeland Security Investigations and the Delaware State Police.
