A Delaware man was arrested after troopers say he shot at his nephews using a shot gun last month.

Delaware State Police say on Wednesday, around 4:33 PM, Troop 7 patrol units noticed 18-year-old Jhareed Ayers on Pinetown Road and arrested him in connection to a shooting that happened on June 25. Police say on June 25, they were dispatched to the 30000 block of Pinetown Road for a shots fired complaint.  Once on scene, authorities discovered that Ayers had fired one round from a sawed off shot gun at his three nephews, two 17-year-olds and one 13 year old, who were standing outside of the residence.

Law enforcement reports that there were three bystanders, ages 9, 63 and 70, in the area when the incident happened.

According to the report, Friday, members of the Sussex County Governor's Task Force (GTF) responded to Pinetown Road in an attempt to locate Ayers. Troopers say the Lewes man was seen in the area at which time he fled.

The 18-year-old was charged with possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, possession of a firearm within 10 years of prior conviction of a felony, possession of a firearm or ammunition by a person prohibited, six counts of reckless endangering second degree, and resisting arrest.

He was then turned over to the Sussex Correctional Institution on a $10,000 secured bond.
