Milford woman arrested in connection with 2017 vehicle theft

A woman is in custody after police say she was wanted for a vehicle theft that happened last year in Delaware.
The Ellendale Police Department says on Wednesday, just after 5:00 PM, officers were following up on a recent car theft and they were questioning 32-year-old Candice Christensen on South Old State Road in Ellendale. Police say the Milford woman gave the officer a false name during the questioning. Authorities report that Christensen was positively identified through a portable fingerprint scanner and she was found to be wanted on numerous charges including felony vehicle theft.
Ellendale PD reports that Christensen was wanted for a vehicle that was stolen out of DSP Troop 9 back in 2017.
According to the report, the 32-year-old attempted to flee on foot and was apprehended. Police say she was found to be wanted on the following charges: theft felony greater than $1,500.00 (vehicle theft), terroristic threatening, unlawful imprisonment 2nd degree, assault 3rd degree, theft misdemeanor less than $1,500, conspiracy 3rd degree, (2) Kent County Court of Common Pleas capias bench warrant, (2) Sussex County Court of Common Pleas capias bench warrant, and (1) Justice of the Peace Court 4 capias bench warrant.
Christensen was charged by the Ellendale Police Department for criminal impersonation and resisting arrest.
She was committed to Sussex Correctional Institution in default of $8,000 secured bond.
