MD State Police launch new tip line for firearms

Maryland State Police have rolled out a new tip line to fight crime.

This tip line isn't Crime Solvers or just a number to your local barrack, it's actually just one number for anyone to call to report illegal firearms and gun trafficking.

MSP is asking anyone who may have information to call this number to ensure it goes to the right person and to the right department. 

"This is the centralized location for those tips to come to for the right people, to get them to the right people to do the inquiries and the investigations so that way we get the people who aren't supposed to have guns off the street, we can get illegal firearms off the street and hopefully help the citizens by not having any gun crime out there any more," explains Lt. Patrick Metzger with MSP Princess Anne Barrack. 

The number to call is 443-424-5108. This line is monitored 24/7 but this number is not always answered,  that's why they ask to leave a message and someone will look into your information.
