McCready Health opens new Behavioral Health Center

Officials weren't just enjoying the Tawes Crab and Clam Bake Wednesday in Crisfield, there was another reason for celebration after McCready Health officially opened the doors to their new Behavior Health Center.

It's a first in Somerset County, a place that will cater to the growing need for addiction and mental health counseling.

Just about 18 months ago, McCready began offering addiction services and now they are expanding those services to general behavioral health concerns for not just adults but teens too.

This new space is a much needed resource close by for those living in Somerset County.

"Young people today have depression, there's behavioral disorders, you know, there's just a multitude of behavioral health issues that the services just haven't been available and people have had to travel even beyond Salisbury," explains Kathleen Harrison, McCready CEO.

This new location doubles the department's space so that they can provide not just private counseling rooms but a group meeting room and family counseling as well so that they can provide help for more people here on the lower shore.
