Habitat for Humanity Choptank constructs new homes

Those who are looking for a new home may be in luck. The Habitat for Humanity Choptank is looking to construct three homes over the next two years.
"We're also hoping to acquire some historic properties and revitalize them," said the Habitat for Humanity Choptank Neighborhood Revitalization Manager, Rhodana Fields.
The focus of the new construction is to provide a home for families who otherwise would not be able to purchase one.
Habitat for Humanity Choptank recently started the construction of a new home on 507 High Street and that one already has a homeowner lined up. However, applications are being accepted for the next home starting in August.
According to Fields, some of the houses they revitalize are about 50 years old, and it takes about eight months to complete construction.
