Frederica overpass set to open

If you've traveled on Route 1 towards Milford, you would know that over the past two years, there has been a lot of construction going on, but there is some good news. A great deal of that construction is coming to an end.

DelDOT says they have had a lot of crossovers and accidents over the years on Route 1 near the Delaware Turf Sports Complex, and that's why they determined this would be a prime candidate for them to create a much safer area for traffic to interact with that new complex and any other new development there.

C.R. McLeod, the DelDOT Communications Director said, "So this roughly 18 million dollar project is going to open up to traffic next week, and then there will be some residual work going on through the course of the summer, but we're excited to get this project done and again, helping to make our roads safer."

The new overpass will be opening up overnight Monday into Tuesday.
