Delaware man arrested after alleged assault using machete

A man was arrested after troopers say he seriously injured another person using a machete in Delaware.
Delaware State Police say on Saturday, around 11;45 AM, troopers were dispatched to the Nanticoke Memorial Hospital for a report of an assault. Further investigation revealed that the 55-year-old Birdgveville man was assaulted while he was at his friends residence located in the 17000 block of Redden Road.
Troopers say the suspect was identified as 65-year-old Augustas Bailey, of Bridgeville. According to the report, bailey entered the residence and began threatening to kill the victim. Authorities say Bailey the proceeded to go after the victim armed with a machete. Police report that the victim sustained a serious laceration in his right hand as a result of attempting to defend himself.
The victim was later taken to the Curtis National Hand Center in Baltimore, MD.
Baiely was arrested at his residence on the 17000 block of Goose Bay Lane. He was charged with assault first degree, possession of a deadly weapon during the commission of a felony, reckless endanger first degree, and terroristic threatening.
He was turned over to the Sussex Correctional Institution on $106,000 secured bond.
