Delaware lawmakers approve $1 minimum wage increase

Delaware lawmakers are one step closer to increasing the state's minimum wage.
A bill raising the state's minimum wage passed through the State Senate Saturday and through the House early Sunday.
If the bill becomes law, the current minimum wage would increase to $8.75 an hour as of Oct. 1.
Another 50 cents would be added next year for a total of $9.25 an hour effective Oct. 1, 2019.
The legislation was introduced a week after another similar bill failed in March by a 10-to-9 vote.
