Chamber seeks donations for new teacher welcome bags

Although we're still enjoying the blissful days of summer, officials in Salisbury are getting ready for back to school. As we enter the upcoming school year, we'll be welcoming new teachers to the area. To help make their transition a little easier, the Salisbury Area Chamber of Commerce is looking for donations to provide new teacher welcome bags. The chamber is encouraging local businesses and non-profits to donate 170 helpful items each for teachers to use including coupons, promotional products and more.

"It's not just new teachers as new teachers, its new teachers coming to this area so we're really trying to get businesses to come out in our community. Get to know Salisbury, get to know Wicomico County, like get out here into the community see how great this community really is," said Director of Events for the Salisbury Area Chamber of Commerce, Lauren Barnas.

If you're interested in donating you can drop off your items to the Chamber's office no later than August 10th.
