Bike share program leaving Salisbury

Salisbury has to call it quits on it's widely popular bike share program.
In February, the city of Salisbury and Salisbury University teamed up with SPIN to bring in over 200 bikes for students and residents to use to get around.
But the company has decided to retire its bike sharing program to take on a new business model with electric scooters.
This means the bikes that hundreds of people in the area used will no longer be available.
"We know they are popular we know there is a market. There's a presence of these that is fulfilling a need so we are going to be looking in the marketplace to find out what if anything we can do to replace this, hopefully we can find a similar model," explains Wayne Shelton, SU Director of Sustainability.
SU tells us they are still waiting on information from spin regarding the refunding of bike memberships and are expecting that question to be answered on Monday.
