UPDATE: Victim identified after body found in Salisbury park; investigation ongoing

Police have identified a Salisbury man after his body was found in the city park on Thursday morning. 

The Salisbury Police Department says the victim whose body was found in the water on the north side of the city park is identified as 62-year-old Edward Earl Stevens, of Salisbury. Police report that a witness who was walking in the park, noticed the body and immediately called the police after the discovery.

Authorities say the initial investigation does not reveal foul play.

The body will be sent to the Maryland Medical Examiner's Office for an autopsy which will determine the cause and manner of death. 

This is an ongoing investigation.

An investigation is underway after police say a man's body was found in Salisbury on Thursday morning.

The Salisbury Police Department says around 10:15 AM, a mans body was found in the water on the north side of the city park, near E Main Street. Officers say they initially received the call at 9:30 AM. 

According to police, the victim is 50-60 years of age.

Authorities say there is nothing suspicious at this time.
