UPDATE: Organ found on Salisbury sidewalk

Officials report that an animal's organ was found on a Salisbury sidewalk on Monday afternoon.

On Monday, just before 1:00 PM, the Salisbury Police Department and Peninsula Regional Medical Center (PRMC) officials were in the area of Carroll Street and Route 13 for an active investigation.

PRMC says an non-human organ was found on the sidewalk. Medical officials report that it is most likely a deer heart.

Officials say the organ was turned over to hospital officials and they properly disposed of it upon the completion of the Salisbury Police Department's investigation.
