Route 13 closed after serious crash in Worcester Co.; investigation ongoing

Authorities are on scene after at least one person was seriously injured as a result of a Worcester County crash, on Thursday afternoon.

The Worcester County Sheriff's Office says a serious crash happened at the intersection  Route 13 south and Route 113, in Pocomoke City. A medevac helicopter was requested to assist at the site of the crash. According to Pocomoke City Police Department, the crash involved a box truck and a tractor trailer.

Authorities say the driver of the tractor trailer was flown from the scene by Troop 4. His current condition is unclear at this time. 

Authorities say there is a road closure from Route 13 south, by McDonalds, down to Route 13 south, by Stallion Road.  Drivers should use caution in the area and expect delays.
