Police: Jewelry stolen in Dover burglary; investigation ongoing

An investigation is underway after police say jewelry was stolen during a burglary at a Dover home.

The Dover Police Department says on Tuesday, between 3:00 PM and 5:15 PM, a burglary happened at a residence in the 300 block of Mifflin Road. Police say an unknown suspect forced entry into the vacant home through a side door.

According to the report, once inside, the suspect took several high-end pieces of jewelry before fleeing.

The residents apparently returned home to find that their home was burglarized.

This incident remains under investigation.
