Countdown is on for Salisbury’s Folk Festival

An event that's sure to bring a lot of visitors to Salisbury is the National Folk Festival. Organizers are hard at work to make sure the event goes off without a hitch.

More than 300 artists will be performing, but craftspeople will also be showcasing their work and talents. Organizers expect thousands of people to make their way to Salisbury and are making arrangements to ensure plenty of parking is available. They tell us they will provide parking at the Civic Center and offer shuttle service to the festival.

"We have a satellite parking lot that's not that far away. We have free shuttles running and picking up every 10 minutes and coming back and forth andhour before the festival,  all the way to an hour afterwards," says Caroline O'Hare, the Local Manager for the National Folk Festival.

Organizers will announce the list of food vendors next month. They are also looking for volunteers who can help backstage and to make sure the event is running smoothly. For more information on how you can volunteer click here.
