Cape takes home first baseball state title

Behind David Erickson's nine strikeouts, Cape Henlopen was able to hold off Caravel 5-3 in the DIAA Baseball State final on Monday.
At the plate, four Vikings drove in runs; Jake and Zack Gelof, Zach Savage, and Erickson.
Cape would lead 5-0 in the sixth, but the Buccaneers wouldn't go down without a fight, cutting it to just a two-run lead.
But, in the seventh, Mason Fluharty would bring home the crown in relief, striking out the final batter.
