UPDATE: Victim identified in fatal train crash in Georgetown

A man has been identified after police say he was killed in a Delaware train crash on Tuesday.

The Georgetown Police Department says on Friday, 37-year-old Leonor Cax-Chavez, of Georgetown, was identified as the victim who was struck by a train , in Georgetown. Police say the crash happened in the area of Douglas Street and the Railroad crossing, just after 8:40 PM, on Tuesday night.

According to the report, a Delmarva Central Railroad train hit a person who was lying on the tracks. Authorities say Cax-Chavez was pronounced dead at the scene.

This incident and Friday's fatal train crash both involve a Delmarva Central Railroad, according to authorities.

This crash remains under investigation and no charges have been filed.
