UPDATE: Slain Md. police officer laid to rest
Slain Maryland police officer Amy Caprio is being laid to rest.
Her funeral procession included a stream of police vehicles with flashing lights. Two firetrucks held an American flag above the road at one point on the route. Spectators lined a bridge overlooking a part of the procession's route from a church in Joppa to the burial site in Timonium.
News outlets report that officers from across Maryland and neighboring states attended the fallen officer's funeral. Bagpipes and drums played as Caprio's flag-draped casket was carried ot of the church toward the hearse.
The 29-year-old Caprio had served on the force for nearly four years. She died Monday after being hit by a Jeep while responding to a call in Perry Hall. Sixteen-year-old Dawnta Anthony Harris has been charged with first-degree murder in her death.
