UPDATE: Partial demolition underway in Dorchester Co.; Race Street closed

A block is closed as officials say partial demolition is underway following a Cambridge building's partial collapse last week.

On Thursday, the City of Cambridge says a partial demolition of a building located at 507 Race Street will begin today. According to officials, the first phase of demolition will ensure public safety and a second phase will begin thereafter, working from the back of the building towards the front to remove debris.

Officials say the 500 block of Race Street expected to re-open some time on Friday.
