UPDATE: One dead after fatal motorcycle accident in Ocean City; investigation ongoing

UPDATE: Ocean City Police have identified the motorcyclist as 43-year-old Armondo Bond of Staten Island, N.Y.

They say the driver of the SUV was not injured. This investigation is ongoing.

A fatal motorcycle accident in Ocean City put Coastal Highway in a complete standstill for about three hours Saturday afternoon. 

According to Ocean City Police, the incident happened around 12:30 PM. 

Officers were dispatched to the intersection of 77th Street and Coastal Highway for a serious accident involving an SUV and a motorcycle.

Officers say the motorcyclist was declared dead upon arrival. 

Traffic was narrowed down to one lane for several hours while investigators worked to determine the cause of the crash and clear the scene.

According to officials, the investigation is still ongoing and the name of the victim will not be released until next of kin has been notified.
