Tractor trailer overturned after Salisbury crash; investigation ongoing

A roadway was re-opened after authorities say a tractor trailer carrying waste overturned as a result of a crash, in Salisbury.
Maryland State Police says on Tuesday, around 7:50 AM, a crash tractor trailer collided with a pickup truck in the area of Naylor Mill Road and westbound US- 50 Business. The tractor trailer apparently overturned as a result of the crash. Troopers say the tractor trailer was carrying raw waste matter at the time of the crash. Authorities confirmed that it was not human waste.
MSP says Hazmat crews and investigators were among those working at the scene.
Investigators say the driver of the overturned truck had to be extracted from the vehicle. According to the report, both drivers were taken to Peninsula Regional Medical Center for non-life threatening injuries.
The Maryland State Highway Administration says the roads were opened around 12:30 PM.
The area of Naylor Mill Road was closed for several hours during the investigation and clean up efforts.
