Teen charged in connection to reckless endangerment incident at Md. school

A teen is facing charges after deputies say he detonated a fire cracker at a Maryland school.

The Dorchester County Sheriff's Office says on Wednesday, the School Resource Officer assigned to Cambridge-South Dorchester High School and school staff investigated an incident where a student detonated a fire cracker in the lunch area. Deputies say the incident happened around 11:30 AM. Law enforcement says the school schedule was completely disrupted and it was placed on shelter in place status.

According to the report, 18-year Aaron Woolford, of Cambridge, was identified as the suspect. Authorities say he was charged by criminal summons with disturbing school operations, reckless endangerment, and possession of fireworks without a permit and discharging fireworks without a permit.

Deputies say Woolford is awaiting action by the Dorchester County District Court.
