Sussex County attracts four new internet providers for underserved areas

In Sussex County, hundreds of residents will soon have access to high speed internet, especially those in underserved areas of the county. Thanks to a new incentive program developed by the county government over this past year, four wireless internet service providers will be entering the market in southern Delaware within the next couple of weeks. Those providers include BridgeMaxx, Bloosurf, Nuvisions/Broad Valley, and DelmarvaVoIP/Conxx, who say they're happy to provide these resources to these areas to provide critical and reliable broadband service to communities who need it most.

"We've listened to our constituents and our council has worked diligently and has prioritized this within Sussex County to provide broadband services to our underserved areas and our areas that have nothing. So we're looking out for not only our constituents but our business partners," said IT Director Dwayne Kilgo.

Officials add all four broadband providers expect to have their services up and running for Sussex County residents within the next 90 days. And as these providers expand their networks and get more customers– other areas of the county will join the list of internet served communities.
