Shorebirds stadium begins 360 deck construction

Calling all baseball fans, especially Delmarva Shorebirds fans. If you’ve been to a game recently you may have noticed there isn’t a carousel anymore.

But don’t worry that’s all because they are making way for an even cooler experience. The wheels are set in motion to build a wrap around 360 deck connecting the entire lower concourse.

It’s all about providing a better social atmosphere for the fans.

Delmarva Shorebirds General Manager Chris Bitters tells 47 ABC, “Fans will be able to hang out in left field, right field, catch a homerun ball, watch the outfielders, be closer to the bull pins and really create a very cool social space for people who kind of just nest down in that area.”

Despite the carousel being gone for good, they will have inflatable slides and other games for kids in it’s place.

The first part of this project which is expanding the concourse to the foul poles is expected to be complete in 6 weeks pending weather.

The rest, including the construction of the deck, will happen in the off season.
