Pollen is here, the end is not near

The warm weather is surely bringing smiles to many, but it also may be bringing some stuffy noses and puffy eyes because of the pollen count.

Now you've probably already noticed that by the amount of pollen on the cars outside. The bad news though is that the pollen is going to be sticking around for awhile because along with flowers, a lot of trees are releasing pollen at the same time. 

"Right now its all of the pine oaks, black oaks that sort of thing they are all in full pollen and we also have a double whammy. The loblolly pines are also in full pollen so if you drive by some of the big loblolly pines you'll notice beautiful sort of green corsages in the tree. Those are the pollen loads," explains Ginny Rosenkranz, an educator with the University of Maryland Extension.

The next relief from pollen may be coming this weekend as a little bit of rain is predicted.
