Pocomoke City residents see water quality improve, but still a ways to go

For about 40 years residents in Pocomoke City had to put up with rusty, yellow looking water coming out of their faucets, but finally that's changed.

Since the city installed a new IOREX device in February to filter the water, residents have noticed clearer water.

However we're told it's not quite 100 percent clear just yet.

"It's not as yellow as it was when we first moved here, but it's still yellowish and sometimes like maybe a few weeks ago it was really nice. I mean really clear and I thought 'boy we've got it' but it's gone back to being some yellow," explains Margaret Soulis, a Pocomoke City resident.

The Pocomoke City Manager tells 47 ABC that the water seems to be doing very well in some areas but still has it's occasional issues.

Although, they are continuing to replace the steel water lines with PVC pipes in hopes of seeing more improvements.
