Man arrested on weapons charges in Dover

A man was arrested after police say he was in possession of a gun and a knife while threatening individuals in Delaware.
The Dover Police Department says on Tuesday, around 8:40 PM, officers responded to the area of S. Bradford Street and Lockerman Street for a report of a man waving a a gun in the air. Once on scene, officers say witnesses reported that a man later identified as 30-year-old Dareus Anderson had been arguing with several subjects in the area and motioned toward his waistband while making threats about a gun.
According to the report, authorities located Anderson and discovered that he had a BB gun tucked in the waistband of his pants. Law enforcement also says a further search revealed a 7″ butcher knife in the Dover man's backpack.
Anderson was arrested and charged with carrying concealed deadly weapon, possession of deadly weapon by person prohibited, and disorderly conduct.
Dover PD reports that the 30-year-old has not been arraigned on the above offenses as he was hospitalized shortly after his arrest for an unrelated issue.
