Made On Delmarva: Lavender Fields at Warrington Manor

Marie Mayor, the Co-owner of Lavender Fields at Warrington Manor, is planting a legacy.
The 5 acre farm houses all kinds of plants, flowers, and vegetables, but their most prized possession is their lavender.
"We've been planting lavender since 2002," says Mayor.
The farm dates back to to the mid 1600's, but over the years the farm has sprouted a different look. The farm has spread its roots to reflect the natural beauty of France.
"When I go to Southern France, and you stand up on the overlook area of the mountains and look down on the fields, and valley, all you can see is lavender," says Mayor.
The crop helps create a laundry list of bath products.
"Sugar scrubs, bath salts. We make soap and send it across the United States," says Mayor.
47 ABC got to see how they make their soap.
"We make 49 different scented soaps," says Terry Goggin, who makes the soap.
Terry makes over 400 bars of soap each week. Each of them needs 3 primary oils.
"Palm oil, olive oil, and coconut oil. In here are my three oils, and they have melted and heated to the exact temperature that I want," says Terry.
Terry adds in lye, dye, and a fragrance. All those ingredients are mixed in and go inside a soap frame to harden.
"It's a very quick process, you don't have time to wait, some soaps will set in about 30 seconds," says Terry.
Once it hardens, the block is cut and sliced into bars. Each bar then gets wrapped in a label and it's off to be shipped. Rub a dub dub, time to make some suds!
