First Democratic Congressional Candidates Forum held at UMES

On Monday evening, candidates running for Maryland's District 1 seat made their way to Princess Anne for a public congressional candidate forum at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore. All six candidates spent the evening answering questions from a panel, as well as used their time to promote themselves and what they stand for. Along with what changes they can bring to the lower eastern shore. Officials say this was the first ever forum held for all six candidates who are gearing up for the primary election next month.

"We're allowing the democrats in the lower shore and Worcester County and Wicomico County and Sussex County to see the candidates up close to hear what they have to say, learn about their background and learn what their positions are for the future to represent this district," said Democratic Central Committee member Tom Butler.

Officials want to remind those that election day is coming up next month on June 26th. If you haven't registered to vote you still have time, the last day to register is June 5th.
