Authorities report that drugs and cell phones were among the items seized after they were sent to a Delaware prison.

The Delaware Department of Corrections says on Wednesday, a suspicious package containing contraband was shipped from and outside location to the James T. Vaughn Correctional Center. Authorities say the package was mailed using a fake vendor name.

According to the report, over 7oz. of marijuana and three cell phones which were packaged in various 4lb. bags of coffee were found inside the package. DOC officials say the items seized have a total prison value estimated between $9,000 to $12,000.

In regard to the seizure made on Wednesday, JTVCC Warden Dana Metzger says, " I would like to commend all the Central Supply Warehouse Staff involved with discovering and assisting in the removal of this contraband from the institution. If this package were not scrutinized, it would have gone unchecked from the warehouse to the main kitchen, where it would have been intercepted by inmate kitchen workers
