Two people were arrested after police say they were involved in a chase while driving a stolen car, in Delaware.

Delaware State Police say on Friday, around 12:25 AM, a trooper witnessed a silver Cadillac CTS traveling on Old Furnace Road, in the area of Middleford Road. Troopers say a computer check revealed that the vehicle was reported stolen out of the Salisbury Police Department. Authorities report that the trooper then attempted to stop the vehicle and the driver turned into a private driveway on Hastings Road.

According to the report, when the trooper exited their vehicle, the driver of the car pulled off, prompting a pursuit. Law enforcement identified the driver of the car as 21-year-old Mikeyah Brewer, of Seaford, and the passenger was identified as 33-year-old Troy Sanders, of Laurel. During the chase, the vehicle reportedly crashed into a stop sign at the intersection of Church Road and Concord Road, before coming to a stop.

DSP says at that point, Brewer and Sanders exited the vehicle and a foot pursuit began. Police say the DSP Aviation Unit assisted in the apprehension of Brewer and Sanders. Troopers report that a search of the vehicle yielded drug paraphernalia.

Brewer was charged with receiving stolen property (felony), failure to stop on the command of a police officer (felony), resisting arrest, reckless driving, driving while suspended, possession of drug paraphernalia, and multiple related traffic offenses.

She was then turned over to  the Delores J. Baylor Women's Correctional Institution on a $7, 911 secured bond.

Sanders was charged with conspiracy first degree (felony) and resisting arrest. He was committed to the Sussex Correctional Institution on a $6,000 secured bond.
