April’s ‘Teacher Who Makes A Difference’ Award

Michelle Schlegel, a kindergarten teacher going on her 20th year at Chipman Elementary School in Salisbury is April's 'Teacher Who Makes A Difference' award winner.

Schlegel got the best surprise a teacher could hope for to kick off the work week today in front of all the students, faculty and staff.

Schlegel tells 47 ABC she knew in fourth grade that she wanted to teach to help young kids learn and thrive.

And to this day it is still what she loves best about being a teacher.

She tell us her favorite part is "Just watching them grow, watching them be excited because they can do something they couldn't before or do it better than they could do it."

The 'Teacher Who Makes A Difference' award is brought to you in part by Accurate Optical.
