Accomack County Schools deal with another bomb threat after suspect is arrested

In Accomack County students and parents are dealing with what they're calling almost daily bomb threats made against their schools.
"Good afternoon this is George Parker principal and Nandua High School. I need to inform parents and guardians that a bomb threat was called into Nandua High school this morning all students of Nandua High School were property evacuated to the football field," said Nandua High School Principal George Parker.
That's the call hundreds of parents from Accomack County received after bomb threats were made on Monday against the Accawmacke Elementary School, and Nandua's Middle School and High school.
"From my understanding is it's either been calls or email just from the here-say the messages just say they've received a bomb threat," said concerned parent Glenn Ferry.
The threats come just days after police were called to the schools for a bomb threat last Friday, that led to the arrest of a 17 year old who officials believe is connected to those threats.
"I feel very sorry for the 17 year old they don't know what kind of drastic mistake in their life that they've made this is going to haunt them for the rest of their life," said Ferry.
Although the one suspect is now in police custody, the threats still keep coming in. School officials say bomb threats were made against the Accawmacke Elementary School and Nandua Middle School on Monday morning. Students were reportedly evacuated and moved to the Nandua High School until they received a bomb threat shortly after as well, forcing all students to evacuate onto the football fields.
"They just keep getting bomb threats everyday and we have to take off work and come here and get our kids," said another concerned parent Wesley Williams.
"Hopefully they will find who's doing this and out and end to it because it's very disruptive to the school day and not alone our work day. It's almost like crying wolf now. We've heard it so much here of late," said Ferry.
For now, students say they just want to get through a regular school day without having to deal with anymore threats. As for the parents they have some words for the person or persons involved in making these threats.
"I hope the kids will wise up and not do this just because they don't have their homework done or they don't want to take a test or want to get out of school because it's a very legal matter here and they can get into some big trouble," said Ferry.
School officials add that on Monday Units from the Accomack County Sheriff's Department, the Virginia State Police, and a K9 unit from the Worcester County Sheriff's Department all responded. They determined that all students were safe and accounted for and no bomb was found.
