Wicomico Co. man sentenced on sex abuse charges

A Wicomico County man will spend the next decade in prison for the sexual abuse of two children over a period of six years.
The Office of the State's Attorney for Wicomico County says on April 4, 39-year-old David Claudas El, of Salisbury, was sentenced to 25 years in the Maryland Division of Corrections with all but 10 years suspended on two counts of sexual abuse of a minor.
Claudas El was convicted for his role in multiple incidents involving two children under the age of 13 at the time of the offenses. The incidents happened between 2008 and 2014 in Salisbury.
Upon his release, the Salisbury man will be supervised for five years on probation, and he must register as a Tier III sex offender for life.
The Wicomico County Child Advocacy Center (CAC), the Salisbury Police Department, and the Office of the State's Attorney for Wicomico County were involved in the prosecution of this case.
