Town of Berlin seeks park improvement grant

The Town of Berlin has participated in a national park improvement campaign by the National Recreation and Park Association and The Walt Disney Company.
The city that gets the most nominations wins a grant of 20,000 dollars.
According to officials in Berlin, the Stephen Decatur Park and the Dr. William Henry Park are in need of improvements.
But, officials say the park that needs most attention is the Berlin Falls Park, which has not had any major construction.
The park was part of a former chicken processing plant purchased by the town about two years ago.
"The new park right now hasn't really had a construction," said Mary Bohlen, the town's administrative services director.
"There's still a lot of discussion as to ultimately what we will do with it, but it represents just a lot of real opportunities" said Bohlen.
Officials say people can vote for the town of Berlin by visiting www.nrpa.org/beinspired.
People can also take a selfie at one of the parks and share it online using #MeetMeAtThePark, #Parkies and #BeInspired.
Voting ends on Monday, April 30th.
