Seacrets plans expansion following the passage of liquor cap legislation

Local legislators are celebrating the passing of Senate Bill 384, but so is a local distillery in Ocean City.

Seacrets Distillery will now see its cap on liquor, they can produce and keep on site doubled from 15,500 gallons to 31,000 overnight.

Now with the raise on limits we're told Seacrets is planning an expansion, something that may have been impossible before.

They expect to see a rise in profit margins that will allow them to attain a loan for an expansion that will be taking place in the next few years.

"It allows us to about six times our manufacturing capability here," said Seacrets owner Leighton Moore.  "And that's also huge.  Right now we're in Maryland, Delaware, and District of Columbia, and I really want to go into Pennsylvania and Virginia, and right now we're maxed out."

The expansion is expected to give the distillery the capability to produce 100,000 gallons of liquor in a year.
