Salisbury Zoo hosts 30 annual Earth Day celebration

Salisbury Zoo will host its annual Earth Day celebration April 21 to help teach kids how to better take care of the environment.

The 30-year-old tradition is bringing local organizations like Maryland Coastal Bays program and the Delmarva Discovery Center to share their message of conservation.

According to staff, the celebration will include recycle craft activities, face painting and animal meet and greets.

"It's been a tradition for the Salisbury Zoo to sort of promote conservation whether it be for the earth or for the animals," said Mary Seeman, the zoo's marketing associate, "We'd like to share that message."

The zoo is also working on a new reptiles exhibit at the William E. Morgan Conservation Center for the summer, according to Seeman.

The Salisbury Zoo Earth Day Celebration will take place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. free of charge.
