Salisbury prepares for 2019 fiscal year

The Salisbury City Council is gearing up for the new fiscal year and is planning on sharing budget priorities at a press conference on Wednesday.

The 61 million dollar budget will keep residents property taxes the same, while increasing water and sewer rates.

Some of the priorities include a reduction in the number of chronic homelessness, more clean streets and better quality parks.

"What we're focused on is the same thing we've been focused on for two years now, which is increasing funding for our homelessness program, have improved neighborhood services, our parks' maintenance and introduction of some great new infrastructure that we've been planning and working on for years now," said Mayor Jake Day.

The press conference will take place at noon at the Parking Lot 16 on East Market Street.
